在普查(202-1)或调查(203-4)中回答问题的人叫作被调查人¹或叫作申报人¹。收集(130-4)资料的人员叫作调查员²、实地工作人员²或普查员²，普查员一词往往专指普查中收集资料的人员。普查员通常在指导员³指导下进行工作。全面普查(202-2)通常由国家的统计部门⁴负责进行。
